About us
Green

Arabian
Horses
Us,
that’s Jacqueline Laucht and Andreas Modl. Not only do we share our
lives with each other, but also our passion for Arabian horses. Looking
back, it is not overly easy to say how we actually got there. Both of us
definitely came in contact with horses already during childhood,
Jacqueline through vaulting exercises and Andreas through “holiday
riding” in France, Spain and Africa.
At some
point we met and have never parted since. One result of our bond has
been the idea (actually, rather Jacky’s idea) to probably acquire a
horse of our own. No sooner said than done: Motivated mostly by
compassion, we bought a totally run-down, yet thoroughbred Arabian from
a bankrupt riding stable, a horse who, at that time, was just skin and
bones.
Looking
for his papers proved to be a rather adventurous chase. Finally, after
plenty of to-do, various DNA samples and a sworn declaration, new papers
were issued. Tournament practice got hold of our lives. Before long, our
first mare joined us. Several years marked by intense learning and
personal development followed. In the company of genuinely good riding
instructors, we soon learned how little we actually knew and were able
to accomplish at that point in time. However, as both of us are
tenacious and persevering, we did not slacken the reins on ourselves. At
this point our place is among the instructors and breeders. However, it
has been a long and difficult way to get there, with many ups and downs.
In 1998
we had the opportunity to lease a forester’s lodge. Investing plenty
of work into its refurbishment, the foundation of Green Forest Stables
had been laid. In 2004, determined to never give it away again, we were
able to buy our forester’s lodge.
It
appears that some older breeders felt that it might be worth while to
help these somewhat younger guys along. Through their help, we got our
first foals. Finally, we
met the Kullmann family of El Dahab. We bought from them our first
high-value horses of truly superior quality, whom we are today using for
breeding purposes. This would not have been possible without Conny and
Josef Kullmann’s support. We are still very grateful to them today,
enjoying our continued intense contact and close collaboration.
One
thing is certain: As long as possible, we will continue to commit
ourselves to these fascinating horses. We are looking forward to many
foals playing on our pastures in the future, later finding a human
person who truly values them.
